CNG station

With features such as convenience, cleanliness, and safety, city gas has been used extensively by households and industries

What is a CNG station? (Compressed Natural Gas)

Introduction background

The government is implementing the replacement of diesel vehicles with CNG vehicles as state affairs and installation of CNG stations (CNG supply facility to popularize CNG vehicles as an optimal option for air pollution reduction in the downtown area in order to create a clean and blue environment by overcoming air pollution that is exacerbated by the growing number of cars.
Samchully started a model CNG recharging station in Incheon in 1998 to meet the demand for the government’s popularization policy actively. Beginning with the CNG recharging station in Yeongtong, Suwon in 2001, a total of 12 CNG stations are operated, including Incheon, Bucheon, Gwangmyeong, and Pyeongtaek, etc.

Overview of the recharging system

A gas station that supplies CNG to the CNG vehicle, which is the most popular CNG vehicle type; medium-pressure (0.4Mpa) CNG is compressed at high pressure using a compressor and recharged to the CNG vehicle (20.0MPa) using a recharger.

System configuration

Compressor / Storage Tank / Dispenser / Control system and safety device

Control system and safety device

City gas piping → compressor → supply control panel → Container → recharger → bus recharging
Control system and safety device
Compressor Receives gas from the city gas piping at pressure of 4kg/㎠ and compresses it to up to 250kg/㎠
Supply control panel Distributes compressed gas to the container and to the recharger at the same time
Container Saves compressed gas at pressure of 250kg/㎠ temporarily, supplies it to the vehicle
Recharger Reduce the pressure of compressed gas down to 200kg/㎠, supplies it to the bus and weighs it on a scale
